Kerry Kapaku (Indianapolis IN)

Kerry Kapaku comes from a long history of training, performing, and teaching ballet and contemporary dance professionally. She has been dancing since she was just four years old, and holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Education from The Ohio State University. Kerry was introduced to Lindy Hop and vintage jazz dancing during her time at OSU, and has been hooked ever since. Kerry has a passion for teaching, and brings that enthusiasm into every class she teaches, whether she's teaching to a large group or a doing a one-on-one private lesson. Kerry strives to cultivate a fun and encouraging environment for all of her students, while emphasizing the importance of efficient muscular engagement and anatomical alignment. In addition to Lindy Hop, Kerry also specializes in St. Louis Shag, and is considered to be one of the strongest shag dancers in the Midwest. Kerry loves to compete, and has placed at events such a Midwest Lindy Fest, Nevermore Jazz Ball, and Camp Hollywood. When she's not out traveling the country for dancing, Kerry serves as Head Instructor for Naptown Stomp Lindy Hop Society, Indianapolis's only organization dedicated to teaching, preserving, and promoting vintage dancing.

David Deenik (St. Louis MO)

From day one, Dave's passion for Lindy hop has been cultivated by traveling all over the Midwest and across the country learning from the best instructors the international scene has to offer. Dave started teaching for his hometown scene Naptown Stomp in 2013, and currently can be found teaching and organizing for the STL Jitterbugs in St. Louis. In and out of the classroom he loves to explore where and when momentum can be created in the dance and how partners can capitalize on it.

Dave is also a big fan and promoter of St. Louis Shag and is considered to be one of the strongest shag dancers in the Midwest. You may have seen him in shag competitions and performances at events like The Nevermore Jazz Ball, Lindy Focus, and more. Ask him to dance wherever you find him!
